We had no Wi-Fi yesterday, so I couldn't post this, so this is for 7/2/12.

Today we paid 18 shekels each to walk the ramparts. The walls around the Old City were built about the time of the Crusades. The views are great; you see the new Jerusalem plus the old, at the same time. It is hot out, so the trip was tiring. It isn't possible to walk the entire wall in one shot, some of it is closed, so you have to get off and move to the next entrance. We only walked from the Jaffa Gate to the Lion's Gate.

We hired a bus to take us to Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum and Memorial. I was surprised at the amount of information and detail that was presented; it was excellent. The stories, from both survivors and those lost, made them so real that it touches your soul. It is not pleasant, at all, to see man's inhumanity to man, but it is necessary to educate everyone. This shows what happens when we do what is right in our own eyes. We cannot trust our base human nature; we must put our trust only in the Lord. I did not take pictures inside the memorial.

The rest of our days will be from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM.; very busy days.
