July 13th

The last day of class.
We returned to the Church of the Holy Sepulcher; to end one portion of the narrative and begin a new. Cyndi read Psalm 22.
John 20:15. When Mary mistakes Jesus for the gardner; was it a mistake? Who was the first gardner; wasn't it Adam? Who is the second Adam? Jesus, the Christ.  Layers upon layers, running through the Scriptures.

Luke 24:13. The two men meet a stranger they do not recognize as Jesus. Jesus ended up interrpreting to them, all the Scriptures concerning Him.

Acts 1:6.

We travelled to Samaria, the West Bank, an area they could not enter two years ago. We went to see Jacob's Well.  John 4:4.
Many tasted the water from the well; there were no pictures allowed at the well itself.

Samaria / Sabaste
This is an area fully explored by archaeologists. The area is very poor, since tourists had to stop coming here for such a long period. Most of the ruins have been covered over again, and orchards planted on top of them.

Caesarea

Herod loved to go against nature, moving hills, building virtual water parks in the desert, so it's no surprise that he builds a harbor where there is no natural one. He wanted to be closer to his beloved Rome.

Peter was in Lydda and Joppa, south of Caesarea. Acts 9:32 and 9:36. In Acts 10, the centurion, Cornelius, is told to send for Peter in Joppa. In Acts 25, Festus kept Paul imprisoned in Caesarea.

As you can see from the pictures, what a beautiful setting this is, on the Mediterranean Sea.

Final Quote from Jeremiah

Jeremiah 9:23-24 (ESV) 23 Thus says the LORD: "Let not the wise man boast in his wisdom, let not the mighty man boast in his might, let not the rich man boast in his riches,
24 but let him who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows me, that I am the LORD who practices steadfast love, justice, and righteousness in the earth. For in these things I delight, declares the LORD."

The class is over; the learning continues.
